That’s me in both those photos above. No photoshop. Four years ago I weighed 270 pounds. I was depressed and exhausted all the time. I felt like a stranger in my own skin. When I looked in the mirror I didn’t recognize the person reflecting back at me. I decided to change.

I took back my life and lost more than half my body weight. I didn’t diet, hire an expensive personal trainer, or have surgery. Yep, that’s right, I have lost over 140 pounds without dieting. I didn’t join a gym and I’ve never taken a weight loss pill.

Ok, so how did I loose the weight? I started making small changes to my routines. I focused on what I was putting into my body and began eating organic unprocessed food. I gradually eliminated all foods I have an allergy or sensitivity to. I ate chocolate, meat, cheese, even Panera, the whole time I was dropping the pounds. The portions and cravings I had began to change overtime. My extreme weight loss was 90% food related changes and 10% exercise.

My experience taught me there is no magic cure or one-size-fits-all formula to weight loss. I learned that nothing is impossible, you do not need anything more than you have already. Losing weight is about getting healthy and feeling better; it is not about being skinny. It is a process that takes support.
